Sick Leave Lifeline – Two million low-wage workers can get statutory sick pay for the first time. Around 100,000 people leave work each year after sick leave, according to the government, which hopes small business health insurance discounts will help people with disabilities and long-term conditions return to work. Separately, the influential Global Future analyst suggests that the £4.3 billion injected into the UK economy by EU migrants should be spent on vulnerable communities, which often have the greatest concerns about EU migration. Glitch on the Moon – India’s first attempt to land on the moon was aborted, fortunately before the Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft was launched. The country’s space authorities said: “A technical failure was detected in the launch vehicle system T-56 minutes.” The launch has been postponed to an unspecified later date as “many precautions”. The four-ton spacecraft is equipped with a lunar orbiter, a lander and a rover designed to spend two weeks analyzing the moon’s unexplored south pole.
