2023 Ka World Cup – Today, the clash between finalists England and New Zealand will kick off the 2019 ICC Men’s International Cricket World Cup (ICC) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The 46-day tournament will see 10 teams compete for the men’s One Day International (ODI) trophy in the final on November 19.

The 10 teams participating in this year’s event are India, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka.

The first round of the ODI tournament will be a round-robin format in which all teams will play once, and the result will be 45 matches. The first round will conclude on November 12 with a match between India and the Netherlands in Bengaluru.
The four best teams from the round will participate in the semifinals. The first-placed and fourth-placed teams will play in the semi-finals on November 15 in Mumbai, while the second-placed and third-placed teams will meet in the semi-finals on November 16 in Kolkata.
However, if Pakistan qualify for the semi-finals, they will play the match in Kolkata regardless of their position in the table; and if India qualifies, they will play in Mumbai. If the two teams meet in the semi-finals, the match will be played in Kolkata.

The Games will be spread across the country, from Chennai in the south to Dharamshala in the north, Kolkata in the east and Ahmedabad in the west.

The first version of the schedule, which was released on June 27, showed that the India-Pakistan clash would take place on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, this date was changed to October 14 due to concerns expressed by local authorities. The date of the first day would coincide with the first day of Navratri, a nine-day festival celebrated in Gujarat.
Originally scheduled for October 14, England’s match against Afghanistan has been moved to October 15. Similarly, the match between New Zealand and Bangladesh which was scheduled for October 14 has been postponed to October 13. Obviously, this game will be played in a day-night format, outside of the planned day mode.
The match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, originally scheduled for October 12, has been moved to October 10, as per the schedule. In addition, the much-anticipated clash between Australia and South Africa has been moved by a day to October 12 instead of October 13.
Most of the changes were made to the game in the latter part of the tournament. The matches scheduled for November 12 – Australia v Bangladesh in Pune and England v Pakistan in Kolkata – have been moved to November 11. On the other hand, the match between India and the Netherlands, which started on November 11, has been moved to November 12, effectively switching the two matches between these days.

Other changes relate to the England-Bangladesh game in Dharamshala on October 10, which has been changed to a day game since it was announced as a night game.
