The BCCI has selected ten venues in Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Dharamsala, Hyderabad and Lucknow to host the mega tournament from October 5 and Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) and Guwahati (Assam) to host the warm-up matches. . Apart from Hyderabad, five matches will be played at the remaining nine venues.

To appease the protesting state associations, BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced that venues deprived of hosting ICC matches will be rewarded with bilateral series (ODIs) this season. He added that he has asked selected venues not to host ODI matches this season and all participating state associations have supported his decision.
“During our meeting, I proposed a solution to ensure fair distribution of matches in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup,” Shah said in a letter accessed by PTI. “I have asked the host associations, except for Assam and Kerala, who are scheduled to play warm-up matches, to voluntarily give up the opportunity to host ODIs in the bilateral international season.”
“This proposal was made to take into account the national associations who unfortunately missed out on hosting the Cricket World Cup. I am pleased to report that the proposal has received the unanimous consent and support of all participating associations.”

ICC World Cup 2023: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday announced the schedule for the 2023 Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup. The 50-year-old men’s cricket starts on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

As per the schedule, the first match will be played between the 2019 World Cup finalists – England vs New Zealand. India last won the ODI World Cup at home in 2011. Since then, Australia and England have won the title on their home turf in 2015 and 2019 respectively.

Apart from this, tickets can also be booked through Bookmyshow, Paytm, Paytm Insiders. According to an Economic Times report, tickets are mostly available and offline sales are limited.

The ICC World Cup 2023 is scheduled to be held in India from October 5, 2023 and will continue till November 19, 2023, but the excitement for the event is already building. The ICC Under-50 Men’s World Cup will follow the same format as the 2019 World Cup. A total of 10 teams will participate. 48 matches will be played. The remaining 2 teams are selected from the World Cup Super League matches. The tournament takes place in a round-robin format where each team plays the other 9 teams once. After the round-robin stage, the top 4 teams advance to the semi-finals, where the top two advance to the final.

In terms of timings, the day/night matches will start at 2:00 PM IST. Whereas the matches of the day will start at 10:30 IST. In total we have 6 day matches and 42 D/N matches. India, England and South Africa are the only three teams not to play ODIs. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will play a total of three days of matches.
Team India will begin their World Cup campaign against eventual champions Australia in Chennai on October 8. The other big matches are against Pakistan in Ahmedabad (October 15), England in Lucknow (October 29) and South Africa in Kolkata (November 5).
