India have won 42 of their 60 matches in 2022 while losing 17, surpassing their previous best of 37 wins in the 2017 calendar year. India have won 37 of their 53 matches in 2017, lost 12 and 12 ended in three-match draws. .

Five-time champions Australia won the Cricket World Cup for the first time on Monday, defeating Sri Lanka by five wickets after nearly 15 overs and a rain delay, strong winds and sandstorms.

Zampa then swung into action. Mendis was caught for 9 after Warner took another catch at deep midwicket. He then trapped Sadira Samaravikram lbw for eight runs and took a hat-trick in the middle of the over but missed.

Mitchell Starc smashed Dhananjay de Silva for seven and Cummins dismissed Dunith Wellage cheaply as Australia showed an energy on the field that had not been seen in the previous two games.

Sri Lanka’s hopes of a collapse were dashed after Starc hit Lahiru Kumara for four. He lost the last nine wickets for 52 runs in a span of 17.1 overs.

Chasing a low target of 210 runs, Australia lost Warner early on. He was dismissed lbw for 11 against Dilshan Madusanka (3-38), as another questionable umpire’s call via DRS review became the subject of debate.

Madusanka struck again in the same fourth over, trapping Steve Smith for five balls – this time without controversy.

Marsh then tied the inning with two strikeouts. He partnered Marnus Labuschagne for the third wicket as the duo shared a 57-run partnership off 63 balls.

No need to worry as England reach 50 from 46. He was dismissed before the end, but Glenn Maxwell sealed it with an unbeaten 31 off 21 balls.

IPL star Maxwell hit four fours and two sixes to delight the crowd in Lucknow.

India restricted Australia to 154-8 in reply to 160-8 after Kumar took 3-32 in four overs and Singh (2-40) canceled out a costly spell in the final over of the match.

Australia captain Matthew Wade scored 22 off 15 balls to keep his side in the game, needing 10 off 6 balls. But left-arm quick Singh kept his nerve and dismissed Wade at mid-on in the 20th over to help India cross the finish line.
