Cricket Stadium’s photo – Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS; Bgali: شرر-ی-بانلا جاتی کریکیسیدکاسا د), also called Mirpur Stadium, is an international cricket ground in Mirpur, in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Located 10 kilometers from the city’s Mirpur district, the ground seats approximately 25,000 people and is named after a politician by Bgali A.K. Fazlul Huq, who was given the title Sher-e-Bangla (“The Tiger of Bgal”).
Originally built for football in the late 1980s, the stadium first hosted matches in the 1987 Asia Cup and 1988–89 Asia Cup. The match was taken over by the Bangladesh Cricket Board in 2004, replacing the Bangabandhu National Stadium as the home ground for both the men’s and women’s national teams. The pitch measures 186 m × 136 m.

The first international match at the reconstructed stadium was held in December 2006 and since then the stadium has hosted matches of the 2011 World Cup, the 2012 and 2014 Asian Cup, the 2016 Asian Cup and more most of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) matches. The stadium hosted the finals of the 2014 ICC World Twty20 and Wom’s World Twty20. The stadium hosted its first T20 International on 11 October 2011, Bangladesh vs West Indies.
