He scored a century on his World Cup debut against Bangladesh in 2011 and a century against Pakistan in 2015.
Kohli had a good time with the bat in the 2019 World Cup, but he didn’t have a century to show for his efforts.
Virat Kohli has now become the third Indian after Sourav Ganguly and Rohit Sharma to score a century in the knockout matches of the ODI World Cup.

Ganguly scored an unbeaten 111 off 114 balls against Kenya in the 2003 World Cup semi-final, while Rohit scored 137 against Bangladesh in the 2015 World Cup quarter-final.

Kohli achieved a historic feat when he doubled Kiwi pacer Lockie Ferguson at square leg to take the score from 98 to 100.

Kohli, a man with an unparalleled sense of occasion, achieved the feat in the presence of the legendary Tendulkar at the Wankhede Stadium.
The full significance of this achievement was heightened by the fact that on 15 November, Tendulkar last batted for India in an international match in a Test against the West Indies at the same venue.
Kohli became the highest run-scorer in a single edition of the World Cup, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar (673 runs in 2003) during India’s semi-final against New Zealand here.
He surpassed South Africa’s Quinton de Kock (591) to become the highest run-scorer in the tournament, followed by New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra (565).
