ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 Qualifier – The road to the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh begins this month with the European Zone Division 2 Qualifier from May 29 to June 2, 2023 in Jersey.

France, Germany, Italy, Jersey, Sweden and Turkey are participating in the competition and the winner and runner-up will be selected at the regional finals in Spain in September this year. Two teams have entered the Global Qualifiers from the tournament in Spain.

The top six teams from the T20 World Cup in South Africa – Australia, South Africa, England, India, New Zealand and West Indies – are directly qualified, while hosts Bangladesh and Pakistan are selected based on their position in the ICC Women’s T20I Team Rankings. .

ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Qualification Pathway Announced

In August 2022, the ICC announced that three tournaments would host the games in three cities. Vue is Newlands Cricket Ground, St George’s Park and Boland Park.

On 27 January 2023, the ICC appointed an all-female panel of match officials for the tournament. Along with the referees, GS Lakshmi, Shandre Fritz and Michelle Perera were also named as match referees.

Before the T20 World Cup, participating countries compete in T warm-up matches, which are played from 6 February to 8 February 2023. These matches do not have Wom’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) or WT20 status.

ICC World Cup Women 2023

On 27 February 2023, the ICC announced its team of the tournament, selected by a selection panel consisting of Ian Bishop, Anjum Chopra, Lisa Sthalekar, Mel Jones, Nasser Hussain, Ebony Rainford-Brt and Mpumelelo Mbangwa. The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup qualifying schedule has been announced with eight teams competing for the last two spots in the T20 World Cup to be held in South Africa next year.

The host United Arab Emirates (UAE) will face Thailand at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on the first day of the global qualifiers from September 18 to 25. Zimbabwe will also play Papua New Guinea on the first day at the nearby Tolerance Oval.

Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland and USA will complete the line-up for next year’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in a qualifying battle against Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies and hosts South Africa.
