In partnership with Save the Children India, 22 teams representing 16 countries will be invited to India for the Street Children Cricket World Cup (SCCWC) next year. Ahead of the ICC World Cup, a 10-day unique event will take place in September where street-based youth will take part in a mixed cricket tournament, an arts festival and a competition to fight for the rights of street children around the world.
SCCWC 2023 will be the second edition of the tournament, following the success of the inaugural edition in London/Cambridge in 2019, where eight teams competed and South India defeated hosts England in a close contest.

The winner will return in 2023 to defend the title along with seven other Indian teams representing organizations from different regions of the country. Teams from Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Burundi, England, Hungary, Mauritius, Mexico, Nepal, Rwanda, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe will be participating.
SCCWC is about more than just a cricket tournament. This is a world that gives street children the opportunity to communicate, share their experiences and present to the world their demands in the field of human rights, such as identity, access to education, protection from violence, access to healthcare, etc. It is a platform. Organizers announced on Monday that the winner will return in 2023 to defend the title along with seven other Indian teams representing organizations from different regions of the country.
