Shanaka was a thorn in India’s path throughout the series. He almost got it for them in the first T20I and won it for them in the second T20I, a single. But in the last two matches of the tour, Sri Lanka left too much when they came to bat.
Despite knowing that victory was a long shot, Shanaka did not give up in this innings and scored his second ODI century. Both his centuries came when he was swinging at six or lower. In ODIs, he is the first Sri Lankan batsman to score six or fewer hundreds.
