Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium Length – The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad was built in 2004 and was previously named after its contractor, Visakha Industries. It is home to the Hyderabad Cricket Association and operates from Pavilion End and North End. The site covers 16 acres and has a capacity of 55,000 people. HCA’s previous home, Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, was owned by the Andhra Pradesh Sports Authority, which restricted HCA’s control and therefore felt the need to build its own stadium. The name was changed from its old name to its current name in memory of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
However, before the venue could host its first top-flight match, it was declared unsuitable for major tournaments. The stadium has been embroiled in controversy, first because of its name and then because of its size. It quickly became known as a high-scoring venue due to its small size and unsuitability for large tournaments. A number of changes followed and by 2008 the ground was fully prepared and floodlights installed. It was the home ground of Deccan Chargers in the first edition of IPL, but unfortunately, they didn’t win a match at home until 2011.

Matches between India and New Zealand are always a joy to watch as the visitors often get more than they can handle.
The Indian team is definitely the favorite to win the series and the players are in excellent form. Mohammed Siraj did stand out, while Kuldeep Yadav also impressed in the limited opportunities he got. Rohit Sharma has less than a century to score but all eyes will be on him.
The Black Caps have rested Kane Williamson and Tim Southee for the tour and have some new faces in the squad as well. Devon Conway has been consistent with the bat, while Tom Latham also performed well in the ODIs against India. It will be interesting to see how the New Zealand spinners fare in this series.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Vs Rajasthan Royals (Rajasthan Royals Won By 72 Runs)
The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium has a capacity of 55,000 and a full house is expected for the match. This is undoubtedly one of the most important venues in India where ODI cricket will return after a hiatus of almost four years. However, it hosted a T20I flight between India and Australia a few months ago.
This pitch was tailor-made for the batsmen, who dominated the game. Even the outfielders are very fast, so the job of the outfielders is extremely difficult. In some stadiums, longer boundaries are better for the bowlers, but the same cannot be said at this venue.
Hyderabad’s straight borders are approximately 69-71 meters while square borders are approximately 66-69 meters. The boundary behind the wicket is only about 55-58 metres. It is obvious that the boundaries here in Hyderabad are very narrow and it will not be difficult for the batsmen to get over the rope here. High-scoring encounters await.

The Men in Green will look to build on their victory against the Netherlands when they take on a frustrated Sri Lanka in Hyderabad.
The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium is known for providing a balanced playing surface that accommodates both batsmen and bowlers. Initially, the pitch tends to provide favorable conditions for fast bowlers, allowing them to take advantage of early seaming and swing conditions.
However, as the game progresses and the batsmen settle down, the pitches usually become easier to score. This change in conditions increases the scoring chances for batsmen who adapt to the pitch.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Uttarakhand Sports Minister Dinesh Agrawal (left) and IPL President Rajiv Shukla (right) attended the Rajiv Gandhi International in Dehradun Inauguration of Cricket Stadium.
After the formation of the state in 2000, the sports facilities in the state took a hit as Uttar Pradesh had sports tire infrastructure while Uttarakhand hosted few Ranji Trophy matches. Due to lack of infrastructure, players started migrating to different states.
Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium Seating Capacity
Due to lack of infrastructure, the Board of Control for Cricket in India did not grant the state the right to field teams in the Ranji Trophy and other domestic tournaments. This is a major disadvantage for young cricketers from Uttarakhand who start seeking cricketing opportunities from other states.
In November 2012, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna laid the foundation stone of the stadium. On December 16, 2016, Chief Minister Harish Rawat inaugurated the stadium along with Indian Premier League Chairman Rajiv Shukla. The total cost of the stadium is 237.2 million rupees.
The first ever match was played between Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand cricket teams. International players like Piyush Chawla and Suresh Raina also participated in the tournament.

In 2016, the Great Khali hosted a professional wrestling match inside.
