He used many innovative shots and was known for his ability to achieve great results without losing his talent and ability to entertain. Although he made his Test debut before entering the ODI arena, almost every cricket expert, fan and cricket enthusiast knew that his game was suited to the ODI format.

For some reason, Tendulkar’s performances in ODIS till 1994 did not live up to the high standards he had set in Test cricket. In those days, the run rate of teams in ODIs was not as good as it is today. Twenty20 cricket had not yet been invented and was considered a 250-run match in ODIs. Sachin took advantage of the fact that only two fielders were allowed outside the crease in the first 15 overs to attack the Australian bowlers. He bowled smartly and after the first 15 overs the fielding restrictions were lifted, he milked one and two deliveries. After his maiden century, the master blaster was stopped and went on to score 48 more ODI centuries before his retirement.
