This Year Cricket World Cup – The 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is the 13th installment of the prestigious quadrennial One-Day International (ODI) cricket tournament in which national men’s teams compete for supremacy under the auspices of the International Cricket Council (ICC). India is all set to be awarded as the host nation for this edition and the games will be held from October 5 to November 19, 2023. The original schedule, which was planned from February to March 2023, had to be postponed due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of ten teams are preparing to participate in this tournament, including the 2019 champion England. This edition is different in that India is hosting the Men’s Cricket World Cup for the first time. I decided not to include games before the 2015 World Cup because I believe that more recent results have more impact and older data is less important. I found the rest of the data files on the Cricbuzz website.
I then loaded a dataset containing the results of ODI matches after the 2015 ODI World Cup and a dataset containing the latest team rankings.

I have removed columns like date of match, margin of victory and venue where the match took place. These features did not appear to be relevant to our prediction.

Each tree is actually “voted” and the most popular choice becomes the final prediction. Random forest is suitable for processing complex data, handling missing values and preventing redundancy. It is commonly used for tasks such as classification and regression and is known for its high accuracy and versatility.
