Under a tripartite agreement between the BCCI, the UPCA and the Uttar Pradesh Directorate of Sports, the stadium in Varanasi was leased to the BCCI/UPCA for an initial period of 30 years with an option to lease for two additional periods of 30 years.
“The BCCI/UPCA will have to pay ₹10 lakh to the national exchequer every year, apart from paying ₹10 lakh to the District Sports Development Board every year,” Uttar Pradesh Sports Director RP Singh said on Friday.
