Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Shara recently took a spiritual break at Baba Nee Karoli Ashra in Vrindavan. Baba Nee Karoli, also known as aharaj-ji, was a highly respected spiritual leader and teacher in the late 20th century, known for his devotion to the Hindu deity Hanuan.

In a recent video, cricketer Virat Kohli and actress Anushka Shara were seen enjoying a spiritual break with their daughter at Baba Nee Karoli Ashra in Vrindavan, India.

Who is Nee Karoli Baba and why is he so good? Nee Karoli Baba, also known as aharaj-ji, was a Hindu priest and devotee of Lord Hanuan. Born Lakshan Narayan Shara in the early 1900s, he left his comfortable plow and became an itinerant sadhu before returning to settle down and begin a life of failure. However, in 1958, he left the plow again and was named Nee Karoli Baba after a strange incident on a train in the village of Nee Karoli.
Nee Karoli Baba is known outside India for spiritually guiding all the Aerikans who visited the country in the 1960s and 1970s, including the famous Ra Dass and Bhagavan Das.
Faus artist Jai Uttal, writer and editor Laa Surya Das, singer and spiritual teacher Bhagavan Das and poet Krishna Das are among his ost faus students. Other prominent devotees include Yvette Rosser, researcher and author, Dada ukerjee, Aerican spiritual leader Jaya Sati Bhagavati, John Bush, filaker Daniel Golean, and Juanitaar Larry Brilliant and his wife Girija.
Ashras of Nee Karol Baba are built in various places across India including Kainch, Vrindavan, Rishikesh, Shila, Nee Karol village near Khiasepur in Farrukhabad, Bhuia dhar, Hanuangarh and Delhi. Taos, New Exico, United States also has these ashrams.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma recently went viral on social media after a video of them visiting an ashram in Vrindavan went viral. The video was shot during their visit to Baba Neem Karoli Ashram in Vrindavan on January 4. The couple stayed at the ashram for an hour and meditated indoors while there.
Neem Karoli Baba Ashram Trustee Radhekrishna Pathak said Anushka’s family has been very devoted to Baba Neem Karoli for a long time. Apart from Kohli and Anushka, other prominent people who have visited Baba Neem Karol’s ashram include Steve Jobs, Julia Roberts and Mark Zuckerberg.

Neem Karoli Baba was a Hindu Guru and an ardent devotee of Lord Hanuman. All his followers called him Maharaj-ji. Neem Karoli Baba’s real name was Lakshman Narayan Sharma and he was born in 1900 in Akbarpur village in Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh. He was born into a rich Brahmin family.
Neem Karoli Baba got married at the age of 11 but left home to become a sadhu. After her father begged her, she returned home and gave birth to two sons and one daughter in an attempt to have a happy marriage.
Outside of India, Father Neem Karoli is famous for being the spiritual teacher of Americans who visited India in the 1960s and 70s. Baba Neem Karoli was a practitioner of bhakti yoga and believed that serving others is the best expression of unlimited devotion to God.

In 1974, Steve Jobs went to India with his friend Dan Kottke to study Hinduism and Indian spirituality. They also wanted to meet Father Neem Karol, but he had died at that time.
Inspired by Jobs, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg also visited Baba Neem Karol’s ashram in Kainch in 2015.
Hollywood actress Julia Roberts said that Baba Neem Karoli was attracted to Hinduism. During the interview, when Julia was asked where her interest in Hinduism came from, she said, “It came from seeing a picture of a teacher named Neem Karoli Baba, and I was attracted to that person’s picture, and I didn’t. I don’t know who he was or what he was about. he spoke, but he was very interested.”
For those who don’t know, Baba Neem Karoli died on September 11, 1973 at Vrindavan Hospital after collapsing due to diabetes.
