Pune, Oct 19 (APP) India batsman Virat Kohli scored his 48th ODI century chasing 257 runs against Bangladesh in the ICC ODI World Cup here on Thursday at the MCA Stadium.
With this century, Kohli came close to Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI centuries. Now we are a century away from the finish line.
Kohli was once again outstanding as Bangladesh chased down India’s target of 257 runs and completed his century off 97 balls. The former Indian captain scored 103 runs off 97 balls, hitting 6 fours and 4 sixes.
With this knock, Kohli also surpassed Mahila Jay Vardhani to become the fourth all-time leading run-scorer in international cricket. He is now only behind Sachin Tendulkar (34,357 runs), Kumar Sangakkara (28,016 runs) and Ricky Ponting (27,483 runs) in this elite list.
