Women’s Cricket World Cup 2023 Table – India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in a Group B match of the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup at Newlands in Cape Town on Sunday, February 12. The Women in Blue won the game after defeating 150 for one.
After electing to bat first, Pakistan posted a healthy score of 149 for four. But India cruised home in 19 overs after Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh struck.

Maroof’s Pakistan are second last from the West Indies, who lost to England in the opening match at Boland Park on Saturday.

Shafali Verma started to look ominous before left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu grabbed the wicket. The 19-year-old smashed 33 off 25 balls with the help of four fours. Harmanpreet Kaur came out with great intent and scored 16 runs in two balls.
With 28 balls remaining to 18 balls, the match was even, but Richa Ghosh hit Aiman Anwar for three consecutive fours to tip the match in India’s favour.

Nida Dar also had an off day after conceding 36 runs and failing to pick up any wickets. When Richa was not out with 20 off 31, Jemimah scored an unbeaten 53 off 38 balls. In response, Ireland conceded early goals from Amy Hunter and Orla Prendergast. Gaby Lewis took 25 for 32 but the rain came with Ireland 54 for two in 8.2 overs. Ireland were five runs behind the DLS par score at that stage which eventually gave India victory.
