The ICC Men’s 50-over World Cup will be in the same format as the 2019 World Cup. There will be a total of 10 teams. 48 matches will be held. Top 8 teams India, Pakistan, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan and Bangladesh qualify for the tournament. The remaining 2 teams are selected from the world cup matches of the major tournament. The tournament will follow a round-robin format, where each team will play against the other 9 teams once. After the round-robin stage, the top 4 teams qualify for the semi-finals with the top 2 teams advancing to the final.

There are 10 teams to play in 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup, these teams are India, England, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Afghanistan.

As far as timings are concerned, the day/night matches will start at 2 PM IST. While the day’s matches start at 10:30 am IST. In all, we have 6 ODI matches and 42 D/N matches. India, England and South Africa are the only three teams that will not play one-day matches. While Bangladesh will play a total of three days of matches.
Team India will begin their World Cup campaign on October 8 against victorious Australia in Chennai. Other big matches are against Pakistan in Ahmedabad (October 15), England in Lucknow (October 29) and South Africa in Kolkata (November 5). Apart from the above mentioned matches, Team India will also play 2 warm-up matches before the tournament. While India will play England in Guwahati on September 30, they will play Qualifier 1 in Trivandrum on October 3. in Zimbabwe from 18 June – 9 July 2023.
Each match will be high stakes, with the teams competing for two spots in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India, which gives them nine guaranteed games in ODI cricket’s world premiere.
The 10 teams that participated in the qualification were divided into two groups of five teams. Hosts Zimbabwe, West Indies, Netherlands, Nepal and United States are Group A, while Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland, Oman and United Arab Emirates are Group B.
Each team will play the other teams in their group once with the top three from each group advancing to the Super Six stage. In the Super Six they will play teams they did not meet in the group stage.

All points won in the group stage will be carried over to the Super Six stage, except those won against teams that did not reach the Super Six stage. The finalists will both advance to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
Queen’s Sports Club and Bulawayo Athletic Club in Bulawayo, Harare Sports Club and Takashinga Cricket Club in Harare will share 34 matches, with Harare Sports Club hosting the final on 9 July. Old Hararians Cricket Club will also host warm-up fixtures.
Hosts Zimbabwe will face Nepal in the Harare Sports Club match, aiming to qualify for the men’s Cricket World Cup for the first time. World Cricket Championship men’s doubles champions West Indies will again be in action on June 18 against neighbors USA at the Takashinga Cricket Club.
Group B kicks off on June 19 in Bulawayo with 1996 World Cup champions Sri Lanka facing the UAE at the Queen’s Sports Club, while in the other match at the Bulawayo Athletic Club, Ireland will face Oman.

The Netherlands will open their campaign against Zimbabwe on May 20 at the Harare Sports Club, while Scotland will face arch-rivals Ireland in Bulawayo on May 21 at the Queens Sports Club. The Super Six stage will begin on June 29, while the bottom two teams from each group will compete in the Playoff.
For the first time in this tournament, DRS will be used for all matches from the Super Six stage onwards.
The qualification is the culmination of four years of hard-fought competition that saw the bottom five teams from the ICC Men’s CWC Super League, three qualifiers from the ICC Men’s CWC League 2 and two teams gaining entry from ICC Men’s CWC Qualifier Play-off.
