A total of eight teams will participate in the event, namely Titans, Dolphins, Lions, North West , Warriors, Western Province, Knights and Rocks.
The Rocks will enter the tournament as defending champions after defeating the Titans by 15 runs in the final of the previous edition. The grand final of this year’s CSA T20 Challenge will take place on November 5.

Cricket South Africa ( CSA) will host the new season of the CSA T20 Challenge, starting February 7, in a managed event environment (MEE) rather than a biosecure environment. The premier T20 league, which replaces the Mzansi Super League (MSL), will feature eight teams. The Royal Lions will enter the tournament as defending champions. Each team will play seven matches in the league stage before the top two teams advance to the knockout round.

There will be a few days off throughout the tournament and a reserve day is set for the final. All matches will be played at St George’s Park, Port Elizabeth.
CSA interim chief executive Pholetsi Moseki said: “It is always an exciting time for our domestic cricketers as the CSA T20 Challenge continually creates exciting moments for the public to enjoy wake,” CSA interim CEO Pholetsi Moseki said before the event. “Following the cancellation of this year’s MSL, the T20 Challenge is once again welcomed into the South African cricket calendar and we look forward to hosting another successful event following the recent tour of India and the competition T20 Knock Out last year.” , he added.
Moseki also emphasized that the tournament will give veterans the opportunity to impress in the domestic arena.
“This tournament will provide another opportunity for our experienced and budding cricketers to showcase their skills in the exciting shortest format and I am sure that we will see some exciting individual and team performances in Gqeberha.”
