Rohit Sharma Run In Today Match – BENGALURU, India (AP) — Shreyas Iyer and Lokesh Rahul hit hundreds to help India make it nine wins in nine games with a 160-run victory over the Netherlands in the final group stage match of the Cricket World Cup on Sunday.
Iyer reached his maiden World Cup with a 94-ball 128, while Rahul hit the fastest Indian hundred in a World Cup as India piled on at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The duo put on 208 runs in 21 overs for the fourth wicket. Rahul scored a 62-ball 100, breaking Rohit Sharma’s record of 63 against Afghanistan in Delhi earlier in the tournament.

In total, the two-time champions had five batsmen score more than 50 in their innings and finished with 410-4 from 50 overs, the fifth-highest World Cup total. Rohit Sharma (61) and Shubman Gill (51) scored 100 for the first wicket. Virat Kohli is out for 51.
Jasprit Bumrah (2-33) and Mohammed Siraj (2-29) shared four wickets as the Dutch were dismissed for 250 in 47.5 overs.
Virat, Rohit, Shubman and Suryakumar Yadav scored in the match. When asked to reveal the reason behind his move, Team India captain Rohit said:
“We want all the players to be ready to bowl if that situation arises in the match. We have five specialist players and we need others to share the load. It was a game where we could try something different and it was good to see it pay off,” he said.

While Virat and Rohit took one wicket each, Gill and SKY remained wicketless. Kohli got rid of Dutch captain Scott Edwards. On the other hand, Rohit managed to fool Tej Nidamanura.
The team will face fourth-placed New Zealand in the first semi-final in Mumbai on Wednesday. Second-placed South Africa will face third-placed Australia in the second semi-final in Kolkata the next day.

Rohit Sharma became the second fastest to score 10,000 ODI runs, achieving the feat during the Asia Cup Super 4 match between India and Sri Lanka on Tuesday.

The achievement makes Rohit the second fastest batsman ever to scale the 10K mountain, leaving behind the who’s who of cricket. Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Sourav Ganguly, Brian Lara, Chris Gayle, MS Dhoni and even their coach Rahul Dravid were behind them. Against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four match in Colombo, Rohit, playing in his 241st ODI innings, hit the milestone with a six, making it the best six in Asia Cup history, overtaking Shahid Afridi in the process.
Virat Kohli still tops the list, reaching his 10,000th ODI run in just 205 innings, with his captain Rohit in second place. He played 18 innings less than the legendary Tendulkar, 22 than Ganguly, 25 than Ponting and 32 than Dhoni. The likes of Lara (278), Gayle (282), Dravid (287) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (293) languish lower. Apart from reaching the 10,000-run mark, Rohit also achieved another special mark by hitting a six, making him the best sixer in Asia Cup history.

It didn’t take long for Rohit. On the second ball of the match, Rohit was met with a juicy half-back that hit the covers and hit the wicket from the boundary. He was forced to stay alert as Mahish Tekshana and Kasun Rajitha pulled his line and length, forcing Rohit to play alone. But even then, Rohit was scoring at a strike rate of 75. He was literally presented with a second boundary when Charit Osalanka made a mess near the boundary, but you could tell Rohit was worried. He gave himself space on a few occasions against Rajitha, but both deliveries were aimed at leg stump. After playing two dots, Rohit scrambled up a bit and hit the ball to the ground as hard as possible.
It was almost when sixes broke Rohit’s handcuffs as he shifted gears to go into beast mode. Dasun Shanaka was drilled for four boundaries in the over before Matish Pathirana was met with a six as Rohit reached his half-century off 44 balls.
For the second game in a row, India got off to a flying start with Rohit and Shubman Gill scoring 50 in 10 overs. During this 50-run partnership, the duo scored an impressive 1000 runs opening the innings together. In just 12 innings, Rohit and Gill amassed 1,046 runs at an average of 91.3, including five fifty-four century partnerships. Even here, Rohit and Gill added 80 runs before Dunit Wellalage gave the young Indian 19 off 25 balls.

Rohit Sharma blasted his way into the history books in front of a sold-out Delhi crowd by becoming the player with the most sixes in all forms of international cricket.
India hosted Afghanistan in Delhi in the second match of the ICC Cricket World Cup and posted 273 with Sharma at the top of the rankings.

Before the match, Rohit was second in the list behind Chris Gayle with 551 against 553 in the West Indies. But Delhi witnessed not one but several records by the Indian captain en route to his century.
Rohit emphatically broke Kapil Dev’s record for fastest century for India in World Cups. Dev hit the mark in 72 deliveries but Rohit needed just 63 to reach three figures in an impressive individual performance against Afghanistan.
But against Afghanistan, he made his way to the top as he led from the front, scoring 50 off 30 to put India in a dominant position against Afghanistan.
The Indian skipper led the way in the second match after being run out for a duck in the tournament opener against Australia when three of the host nation’s top four batsmen failed to score a single run.

But in Delhi, India and Rohit played with the bat to show what India are capable of as they claimed two wins in the first two matches.
Before the game, Rohit had 292 sixes in ODI cricket but hit four more on his way to three figures in Delhi.
