Pool A includes heavyweights Australia, who have a number of players with senior cricket experience in the WBBL and domestic one-day competitions. They are the favorites to cruise through the pack.

Sri Lanka will be led by 17-year-old Vishmi Gunaratne, who has played nine T20Is and also made her ODI debut last year. He will lead a talented group of skilled players to South Africa, where he will be captained by the only player with experience at the top level.

Bangladesh are the dark horses in Group A and have a strong squad with four players who have experience of traveling with the senior team last year.
With Shivnarayan Chanderpaul as the head coach, USA is also not to be taken lightly. Star all-rounder Geetika Kodali will captain the USA and wicketkeeper/hitter Anika Kolan has been named the event’s vice-captain.
England will be looking to gain experience on the big stage with several players to attack the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup. On paper, England are not only favorites to progress to the Super 6 stage of the tournament, but should be dreaming of going further.
Pakistan first assembled and appeared as the under-19 women’s team during the warm-up match. Led by right-arm spinner Arub Shah and coached by Mohsin Kamal, Pakistan’s management group will be tasked with maximizing the talent of an inexperienced squad of players.
DEPTH OF INDIAN CRICKET IS IN IKAPARABILE
Rwanda turned heads with an upset win over Ireland in a warm-up match ahead of the main tournament. Nineteen years after becoming a member of the ICC, Rwanda’s under-19 women became the country’s first representative at a global cricket event. They will be hoping to make history in their first season.
Zimbabwe will be hoping to get enough time as a team ahead of the tournament to qualify for the group stage. Besides the captain Ndhlovu, much will be expected from the second player of the team in the squad, Michelle Mavunga.
After a win over Zimbabwe in an unofficial warm-up match, Indonesia turned heads again with another win against them in an official pre-tournament warm-up. This is the first ICC World Cup in which Indonesia has reached any level, but these victories have raised expectations from the newcomers.

Possessing plenty of talent in the senior T20, West Indies can make an early impact in the ICC Women’s U19 World Cup T20 2023. They have a reasonable squad from which to expect credit. However, they have won just one of their last 10 T20Is – with recent defeats also coming against Sri Lanka, India and USA.

The New Zealand team consists of players who have made a strong impression in international and domestic cricket. Three players – the very talented Fran Jonas, Georgia Plummer and Isabella Gage – stand out in the squad with their experience. They are expected to be one of the best teams in this event.
With 17-year-old Amy Hunter as one of the faces of the inaugural tour, Ireland packed a punch. Having automatically qualified as full members, the Ireland U19s have focused on domestic preparations ahead of the campaign.
With Shefali Verma at the helm and upcoming superstar Richa Ghosh at their disposal, India’s squad for the inaugural ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup looks quite intimidating.
South Africa played a winless series at home against India but are expected to be a strong side in the tournament to be held in their home country.

By winning every match in the Asian qualifiers, the UAE have qualified for the inaugural ICC U19 Women’s Twenty20 World Cup 2023 and will aim to finish in the top three of the group.
It will be a historic event for Scotland as it is the first time a women’s cricket team has participated in the World Cup, but it will be a huge task for them in a strong group.
The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Six round, where the teams will be drawn into two groups of six. Group 1 will have three teams each from groups A and D and Group 2 will have three teams each from groups B and C.

The top two teams from each group will go through to the semi-finals, both to be played at JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom on January 27.
